I'm Amy, a science writer and California native.

Before becoming a reporter, I studied the delicate proteins that make jellyfish glow, and the distribution of coral reef fishes across Melanesia.  

Now I cover environment from an ecologist's perspective.

My work has appeared in The Atlantic, Science, and Discover, among others. I am now the Associate Editor of Front Matter, journalistic content from PNAS.
